In art club today my middle school artists created awesome posters for, "No Name Calling Week."
Check it out! I am so happy to announce that two of my HS art students will be showing their artwork in this show. Please join us for the opening reception.
WHEN:Tuesday, January 28 4:00-5:30 p.m. WHERE: CGCC Fine Arts Building ...Snow Date: Thursday, Jan 30 CHECK IT OUT HERE This past Fall my HS Intro. to Art class followed the well-known, but not really identified, street artist, Banksy. We followed him through the streets of NYC to see where his graphic art would would pop up next. If street art is your thing please take a second out of your day to check out some of his work HERE and HERE We are busy painting and drawing. Some students are still painting their clay slab boxes while other students are deep into their canvas creations. This project is kind of like an abstract self-portrait.
This lesson focuses on the individual student. The final result is a reflection of the student on a 2-D surface. I believe this project will have many different outcomes due to the nature of the concept. I have given the students a choice between painting or drawing mediums. |
